Greetings
from
Hawaii!
In
this
issue
of
Romance
in
The
Islands
of
Aloha,
we
bring
you
another
great
group
of
Hawaii
companies
that
can
assist
you
with
planning
your
Hawaii
wedding,
Hawaii
honeymoon
or
vacation.
On
the
Big
Island,
we
feature
the
beautiful
Mauna
Lani
Bay
Golf
Course,
on
Maui,
the
fabulous
photography
of
Bill
Stockwell,
on
Oahu
a
whale
watching
adventure
tour,
on
Kauai
the
aptly
named
Safari
Helicopters,
and
on
Lanai
the
gracious
Lodge
at
Koele.
The
Francis
H.
I'i
Brown
North
and
South
courses--are
remarkable
if
for
nothing
more
than
the
vast
fields
of
dark
black
lava
out
of
which
they
were
constructed.
The
original
18
holes
were
opened
in
1981,
with
Homer
Flint
and
Raymond
Cain
as
the
lead
architects.
It
was
a
visually
spectacular
course
that
featured
one
par-3
hole
crossing
a
wide
Pacific
inlet,
another
par-3
playing
into
a
coliseum
of
lava,
and
many
holes
whose
primary
challenge
was
to
hit
the
bright
green
fairways
and
greens,
avoiding
the
lava
formations
in
the
landing
areas
and
on
both
sides
of
the
fairways.
The
course
received
rave
reviews
from
the
moment
it
opened.
In
1991,
Mauna
Lani
felt
it
necessary
to
add
another
18
holes,
so
they
called
in
the
Honolulu
architectural
firm
of
Nelson/Wright/Haworth.
With
the
land
configuration
available
to
them,
Robin
Nelson
and
Rodney
Wright
elected
to
split
the
existing
course
into
two
nines
and
add
nine
new
holes
to
each
side.
The
results
were
remarkable,
with
the
signature
par-3s
having
been
split
between
the
courses,
and
several
new
holes
on
each
course
playing
down
to
or
in
front
of
the
Pacific.
Maui
Wedding
Photographer
Bill
Stockwell
has
been
photographing
weddings
for
35
years.
His
relaxed
and
natural
style
has
made
him
one
of
the
most
sought
after
photographers
in
the
San
Francisco
bay
area.
He
now
takes
his
expertise
to
the
Hawaiian
Islands,
based
on
the
island
of
Maui.
"My
most
important
task
as
a
wedding
photojournalist,
is
to
catch
the
true
personalities
of
the
wedding
participants.
The
best
wedding
pictures
grab
us
all
on
an
emotional
level.
Boring,
statistical
and
overly
posed
photos
are
unacceptable,
as
far
as
I'm
concerned.
I
keep
a
very
low
profile
at
an
event,
my
goal
being
to
photograph
people
when
they
are
not
aware
of
my
presence.".
Bill's
low
key
attitude
coupled
with
his
exceptional
visual
talent
make
for
a
world
class
wedding
photographer
on
Maui.
Ray
Beatty,
owner
and
operator
of
North
Shore
Catamaran,
brings
a
lifetime
of
water
experience
to
his
whale
watching
tours.
A
former
big-wave
surfer
and
retired
Honolulu
fireman,
Mr.
Beatty
knows
the
island
like
the
back
of
his
hand.
With
his
friendly
crew,
he
will
take
you
to
enjoy
the
majestic
humpback
whale
pods,
jumping
spinner
dolphins
and
spectacular
snorkeling.
North
Shore
Catamaran
is
a
unique
way
to
see
the
natural
beauty
of
Oahu's
North
Shore
and
exciting
marine
life.
